Your Guide to
Invisalign
Invisalign treatment is a clear removable aligner system which is used to help straighten crooked teeth and improve appearance and function of teeth. Having straighter teeth brings benefits such as easier to clean teeth and gums which is better for the long term health of your smile.
We have amazing feedback from our Invisalign patients who feel the treatment is life changing for them. We love to see the patient throughout their journey witnessing the changes over time in the patients smile but also in their self - esteem and confidence.

Benefits
Aligners can be removed for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing, allowing for normal oral hygiene and no dietary restrictions
Invisalign aligners are made from clear plastic, making them virtually invisible from a conversational distance, which is ideal for adults and professionals concerned about appearance during treatment
Digital treatment planning and precise aligner design often reduce the number of in-office adjustments compared to traditional brace
Considerations
During treatment, aligners must be worn 20–22 hours per day. Skipping wear can delay treatment or reduce effectiveness
Some patients experience mild pain or pressure when switching to a new set of aligners, and minor speech changes like a temporary lisp may occur
Severe rotations, significant bite corrections, vertical tooth movements, or root positioning may require traditional braces or additional orthodontic techniques
Your Invisalign Journey
01.
Your Invisalign consultation
At your consultation, we’ll take a digital 3D scan of your teeth. You’ll then be able to see a digital preview of what your smile could look like once your teeth have been straightened with Invisalign.
02.
Your personalised treatment plan
Within a few days, you’ll receive your personalised treatment plan, showing exactly how your teeth will move and how long your Invisalign treatment is expected to take.
03.
Prepare your teeth
Before your aligners are fitted, we may add small, tooth-coloured resin attachments to your teeth. In some cases, a small amount of filing between the teeth (known as IPR) may also be needed to create space for your teeth to move. This can often be a more favourable option than removing teeth, which may sometimes be required with conventional braces.
04.
Start wearing your Invisalign aligners
Your clear aligners will then be fitted, and you’ll initially receive 4 sets of aligners. You’ll change to the next set yourself every 10–14 days, as instructed by your dentist.
You’re in control of your Invisalign treatment, so your commitment is important. You should wear your aligners for around 22 hours every day, removing them only to eat, clean your teeth and brush your aligners before putting them back in.
05.
Your first review
After around 6 weeks, you’ll return to the practice for a review. We’ll check that your teeth are moving as planned and that your treatment is progressing well.
06.
Perfect your smile
Once your Invisalign treatment is complete, it’s time to enjoy your new smile! If you’d like to perfect your results even further, we can also enhance chipped, worn or uneven edges with composite bonding for a truly polished finish.
